Antigone des supermarchés

January 15-17, 2027
The Calderwood Pavilion - Boston

🇫🇷 Performed in French with English captions.

Antigone des supermarchés is an intimate, raw, and humorous one-woman show.

Starting from the contrasting reality of an actress working a survival job as a supermarket mascot despite her classical ambitions, the play layer-by-layer unpacks a life long kept hidden in the shadows. Through direct, unvarnished spoken-word address and tender self-deprecation, Jeanvoine examines her upbringing in classical dance, social shame, class structures, identity constraints, and the generational silence surrounding her coming out and homosexuality.

By bringing marginalized spaces and hidden labor to the forefront without pretense or metaphor, the show ultimately serves as a powerful declaration of presence. Marking the end of invisibility and claiming space on the stage on her own terms.
