Contre-temps

A musical comedy based on the life of François Courdot

May 9-11, 2025
Huntington Theatre, Boston

How did a French operetta conductor end up in New York, hoping to become a Broadway composer?

This is the sensational story of François Courdot (1919-1968), an important musician and artist largely unknown to the general public - until now.

Thanks to the precise work of biographer James McGraff and the recent discoveries of some rare scores, Contre-temps is a musical biopic of this French artist in America. The show is a euphoric and richly illustrated dive into the history of operetta and musical comedy in the 20th century, joyfully carried out by the creative team of Comedians! and the Opaline Trio.

🇫🇷 Performed in French with English captions.
